What IS it!

While my parents were here for Christmas, we did our traditional visit to Cabela's. Christian and Haley each had some money saved and wanted to buy something. Haley found a little package that said prehistoric dinosaurs. These particular ones were called triops. The directions said to put these little eggs in water and watch them grow. We all thought "yeah right". But to our surprise, about 10 of the 30 or so hatched. They eat each other as they get bigger and only 2 survived. Their lifespan is 20-70 days and they get to be about 2 inches long. One lived 28 days and this last one lived almost 50 days. It was fun to have them.

You know, I actually saw these at a toy store the other day and wondered myself whether they'd actually live or not. That's good to know!
